Gary, the OP ,does'nt say what his budget is? and anyway, anyway, anyway,if he tried a 4k 1150 and a 10k twin cam I have no doubt he'd push for the twin cam :green gri

Steve

Not necessarily. He may be a person with a purchon for style and quality rather than the lemming like race for the most expensive Tesco Trolley?

You've clearly have'nt spent any real time on a 1200tc.

That's correct. But I did spend a lot of time around Europe on a non-TC 1200ADV. I was lucky enough to be able to get a s/h model without all the electronics. Just ABS and heated grips.
Eventually saw the light. Very rarely travel over 85/90mph and experienced enough to be able to chose when to pass without dropping below 5th gear. So don't need 120bhp or complications of ABC, ESA, DPR, ESC, XYZ packs that will/do cost a fortune to fix. Been there and felt the wallet get lighter.

Big plus is not to be "one of the clones" seen everywhere on a 12. Works for me maybe not for others. Suppose I'm being a bit elitist?

Last week at BMW stealers only bikes were 1150, all the 1200 riders inside had come down in their cars :augie read into that what you want.

I take your point Red.
The 1150 is a nice bike, and a nice looking bike, plus I would have to admit that whilst I hope I'm not I do sometimes feel like "one of the clones"

I loved my 1150gsa se,but for me it was just a bit of a lump at times especially two up and loaded with camping gear.

Now, a 1200 tc (with the gadgets) that looks like an 1150, with a proper fuel tank. I'd be the first in line.

Gary (OP) don't let this banter put you off, 1150 or 1200 which ever you decide on you'll love it :thumb

Steve

To the OP:-

Just get a bike you can afford (don't get into debt), and go and do some touring...

Simple really :thumb2
