Hi everyone ,this is my first post so hopefully i am in the right place ,i bought my gs 1150 3 months ago and as my 1st big bike i have absolutely loved it so far.can't wait to go touring to spain in August :blagblah.
Allready this forum has been a god send because i now know that most 1150's sound a bit rough on start up and have benefitted from all the expert advice ive seen on here, and so to my 1st problem with the new pride and joy, hopefully you can help me.

Unfortunately my storage for my bike is far from ideal as i have to ride it out of my garden,up a ramp and through a very narrow gate ,which takes a bit of clutch control.
like i said, until today my bike has been spot on but today the clutch got a bit smelly when i done the obsticle course to get out of the garden ,anyway i let it cool down and then headed out for a quick ride (about 30 mile round trip),
but about half way in i was accelerating gently (roughly 30 mph) when i heard a strange noise, sounded like a brake binding and lasted for about 2 seconds so anyway i thought no more about it,but then a little later i was accelerating quite hard when the revs shot up and i lost drive but this was litterally just for a split second:nenau,it only done it the once but it knocked my confidence so all the way home i rode slowly .
i have obviously seen a lot of threads on here about losing drive but these all seem to have lost it completely, whereas mine was just for a split second .

Any ideas as to what may have caused it? the bike has done 59k and the paperwork says it had a new clutch 15k ago ,i dont know if its linked to the clutch getting a bit warm earlier or if im just clutching at straws (no pun intended)
Any advice would be much appreciated ,many thanks in advance :thumb2
Regards :paul

These bikes hate having the clutch slipping with a few revs on, it could be fecked:(

Thanks for the feedback ,i thought this may be the case myself but was unsure due to the fact that it was just a split second and i was in fifth with the clutch fully out when it done it ,very strange :nenau

Try it again tomorrow, be gentle on the clutch getting it out too:thumb

Check which bits of the clutch were replaced if you can. Does the receipt specify? If I understand the posts in the forum if just the clutch plate was replaced then it won't last very long. The entire clutch assembly (correct term?) needs to be replaced.
