There are a few of us going out onthe trails in the south cotswold son Sunday the 14th June.

Main post is under off roading.

If you want to join us we will be heading off from the Cheltenham area ish at about 9.30 am

PM for final instructions.

Woooo! count me in Burtie. (note: we'll need a healthy bike lifting entourage following me though).

No problem - we'll teach you how to lift it yourself by the end of the day ;-)

If you are riding in the Guiting Wood area beware of a little incident we had last weekend.
A piece of electric fence wire securely stretched taut across a by-way marked 'unsuitable for motors' at a height of about 1.5m
Cant understand which particular sector of society would do it... it was chest height for a rambler .... same for a horse ... across the throat of a seated biker... most likely a NIMBY (not in my back yard)
Fortunately we were setting up a way point for an event we are organising and walked into the fekker ....
Heard of a similar incident on a'disputed' lane near Chipping Norton in the winter.

That's shocking!

Any chance you could point it out on Google maps so that we know to be aware of it? :thumb2

Thanks for the update Harv, I'll check the maps but I don't think we go as far over as Guiting Woods.

But I will double check.

If you can tell me the location, I think the TRF should be informed as I'm sure it will be of interest to them and it maybe illegal - as well as having the ability to cause some serious damage.

Isnt this attempted Murder? IMHO the Police should of been contacted and finger prints taken. This sounds horrible, and a serious risk to public safety.

Anyway, Burtie,your leading...

Cheers for that - I also have a first aid kit - so I'll tell you where it is before we set off ;-)

Which plaster is it I use for a severed head again? is it the water proof one or just the clothey type? i forget? :augie

My other half has just bought a staple gun - I'll put that in the first aid kit as well.

On a more normal note - have been riding these lanes for over 10 years and had no trouble. Even had a few nice encounters.

The GS type bikes make a big difference to the perception of our riding - and we are usually slow.

Here's looking forwards to Sunday - I'll get directions etc off for the start point tonight.

We are now full - we have the 5 bikes confirmed for Sundays ride out.

There is another ride out planned on the 26th July. PM me if anyone is interested.

Hi Burt,

I'm not going to be able to join tomorrow :(
