Thought I'd share this with you.

During my LC's first service last year BMW Park Lane/Battersea discovered that my master cylinder needed replacing. They didn't have the part so they had to order it from Germany and it ended up taking nearly 6 weeks.

Today I received a gift box with a bottle of Champagne and some posh chocolates inside, as well as an apology letter. Good stuff, BMW.

Rupert.

Had the same myself 'cos I had to wait weeks for them to fabricate the modified pushrod last year. All very nice but would have preferred the parts.

Took 4 weeks for a switch and i got sod all.
Thanks Clarkes

I bought champagne and chocolates for the Mrs today.

If I get a master cylinder tonight, I will not be happy.

my master front brake assembly (the whole thing) was also replaced within a month of ownership. It failed resulting in marginal braking and a very soft lever.

just a note : there was no visible leaking , etc , and no loss of fluid. Only no lever.

Damn, I knew I should have held out for more when BMW replaced my bike!:blast:P

How do you know that there's not someone at the shop fancies you ..... Valentines day and all............ :D

Let me get this right. You've been without your bike for 6 weeks because BMW haven't had the parts available in the UK and you're happy with a bottle and some chocolates? :nenau

This after a major item on your bike has failed - the brakes I assume for gawd sake. And its done 600 odd miles since you bought it.

Well, by that token, my mate should be in for real treat from BMW.

His WC has been off the road for 9 months, waiting for a front subframe from Germany...:blast

:D

Well, I also had their courtesy bike for the duration. :)

this forum is hard. Alot of useless comments and difficult to find relevant information sorting through all the stand-up one-liners.

maybe the Admin should set up a dedicated thread to dump all useless one-liners which don't help with the topic at hand.

It's the English mate... They love a good comment or moan for no reason but think they are adding value :blast
