Nicking the Zumo mount

I'm in the process of fitting the Zumo mount to the handlebars of my GS ... and have started wondering what stops anyone nicking the mount. It's only held on by the double socket arm...

I know it's not much use to anyone (but when did that stop windows getting done in) and I know the obvious answer is to lash some cash on a decent mount, but in the meantime what's the answer?

do what I did, fit a socket to the bike and a plug to the lead, then remove it when parked up, leaving just the ball

Swap the thumb turn screw thingy (technical term) with the screw thread on it for a std bolt. It'll be kinda permanent then they'll need a spanner to get at it.

Or you can easily unplug the comms & power leads, tuck the ends aways or into the end of the bar pad and remove it anyway - just don't screw the power lead in.

Thanks to all - much prefer the dome-head idea to the the locking nut... wonder if they do Torx bolt heads? The socket button screw looks like the bolts I had for my Aprilia Falco.

And, yes, some moderator should put the info on a sticky - that's what they're for (the mods ... and the stickies!)
