I hear that the Nippon Denso starter motor is the same as one used in a Toyota truck or van. Does anyone know which one, it might be worth searching one out in a breakers.

I understand the front housing/mount/gear is different... ie. not a straight swap
I bought one in the US when the $ was down the pan against the Euro

Ah, so it's not a straight swop. Guess my thoughts of finding the motor for about 50 euro from the breakers is a non runner. I guess I'll have to consign it to my wish list of upgrades for the bike.
I asked motoworks if they could get hold of them they have done a deal with the manufacturer. Not 50e but a good upgrade less amps needed, higher cranking speed and a lighter unit.
