Nippon denso starter

Re the Valeo after i had my magnets drop i bought the Nippon Denso..... which then broke! The casting cracked anound the inside edge. It may have been that it was loose when i instaled it, but i am 95% sude it was OK. Apparently it was the first one returned. Ever.

Motorworks were kind enough to replace it for me.

I wish i had seen the Valeo epoxy and clip magnet trick.

But am still happy with my N-D as i understand that it is more efficient than the Valeo but don't really understand the draw data below...... so will defer to those more knowledgable!!

Valeo:Technical Information: 9-Tooth Drive Gear Pinion for use with 111-Tooth Ring Gear. 1.2 Kilo Watt Rating @ 270 Amperage Draw.

Nippon Denso: At 6 lbs., it's approximately half of a Bosch's weight, and draws 80 amps of battery current, compared to the 120 amp draw common to Bosch.

Hi Rob ,
well I now if I needed a new starter and baterrie and was thinking of that much wieght saving I would just tacke them of my bicke and go back to using the Kick start my scheck bicke is a piece of piss to start with the kick start it even starts easer with the kick start as with the starter motor and licke that it will save you some weight and money and get the heads turning on the cafe carpark on a sunday after haveing a bumper breakfast :D

Jay,

My engines a Moorespeed high comp motor so I wanted the extra umph from a decent starter. I also want to cut as much weight out of the bike as possible. I want the best components to complement the rest of the engine as well.

The unbranded copies from EME ,and others, have the magnets fixed with clips and a better adhesive.

Quality is better than OEM, the only thing that is cheap is the price.

EME has good quality heavy duty battery cables too, at less than half the price some folk are charging.

There are cheaper Ebay sources than EME, but EME stands by his stuff, and has a no quibble replacement policy, which most Ebay sellers wont have.

You have inadvertently posted in the airheads section. You'd be better off posting in the oil heads section for your answer.
