I wonder if anyone can tell me if the operating logic on the Autoswitch has changed?

The one I have on my 1150 resets itself when the ignition is turned off (if I have it on before the ignition is turned off it will turn off when the ignition is turned off and back on)

I had one on my 1100 which used to remember the state it was in prior to ignition off. So if it was on when the ignition was turned off, it would be on when turned back on again.

I'm sure both were wired the same - all I can think is the way the switch operates has changed in all the version changes there has been.

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

Tom

I am not familiar with the Autoswitch but maybe it has 2 feeds one permanent and one switched, maybe these have been crossed on the 1150. A bit like modern car stereo wiring.

I have the AS7. The model number should be on the unit itself. I located the unit in the fuse box as there is plenty of room and its easy to connect to the existing wiring in this position. Find yours and hopefully it will still have the model number sticker on it.
As per your 1100gs operation, if I turn the spots on, switch of the ignition then the spots will still be on when the ignition is switched back on again.
I wouldnt know about the earlier versions without looking at the circuit diagram, but maybe this mode of operation wasnt always the case?

Thanks fatnfast - I have AS5 on the 1150 and had AS7 on the 1100.

The other thing I notice, on the AS5 the LED does not turn red when the Autoswitch is off but on the AS7 I'm pretty sure it did.

I had mine professionally installed on my 1150 and it resets itself when the ignition has been turned off.

JoeC - what version have you got?

Ahebron - good suggestion, thank you.

I don't know my model number but thinking about it now ... I asked my fitter to connect it to the ignition that that may explain why it resets itself.

The schematics show that it should be powered by ignition - which my 1100 was.

I'm pretty sure it's to do with the version and the logic they have put into the circuit. I've emailed Autoswitch so hopefully will get an answer.

Thanks for your help.

Tom
