When I had my 1200GS I wired my Gerbing jacket and Optimate terminals direct to the battery. I ran the GPS to the headstock Canbus socket and powered the Autocom from the underseat socket and the battery ground terminal. This was all very well but the surplus cable lengths and inline fuses made the area around the battery look like a bowl of spaghetti - even though I neatly bundled up and cable-tied all the bits.
I now have a 1200GSA
and need to think about wiring it all back in again. I will still run the GPS from the headstock socket and take the power for the Autocom from the underseat socket as the shutdown delay of the Canbus system is useful. However, I am thinking about using one of Nippy's little fuse boxes to power the rest (and anything else), meaning that I can easily cut down the surplus wiring lengths and get rid of the inline fuse clutter.
Does anyone have experience of this little fuse box? Where do you mount it (my Autocom will go onto Owners Manual clip under the front of the seat). Will it fit into the lower recess in the tool tray?
Helpful suggestions appreciated
