Nippy Norman's super high screen

I don't have this one but do have the wunderlich ergo screen which is a similar size and what a difference it makes. Bike feels more planted and no buffeting best purchase I have made.

A good mate of mine has just bought one. He's very pleased with it as he's 6'4" and was suffering with the oe one. Quality is spot on too. :thumb

Well as usual I am seeking opinion having just bought one myself; ie the wrong way round. but yesterday's trip down the motorway with my normal secdem screen had me worried.

Although in much praise of the secdem, because it does improve the situation no end, my May trip to Europe has at least two 550 mile legs in it.

Last year, on my 1200RT, this was ok..but on my GS. Err ...erm..dunno.

Hence taking the plunge.

6 ft 2" with the regular secdem bolt upright, has be thinking that a taller screen set back at a greater angle will put me closer to the lip..and hence smooth out the airflow. If I can just get it quieter, as I know it can be in smooth air, I might then be able to hear my Garmin Quest's feeble voice.

But I do not expect it to cure the nagging turbulence around the shoulders.

No screen for a GS will do that without a) snagging on the mirrors..or b) looking like a total barn door.

And if any (RT Forum stray) joker says that I should have stuck to the RT...I'll answer that when i get back.

I can second the Wunderlich experience - I have one on my 1150GS and it's very good - provides extra protection.

I also have tobinators fitted and the combination works a treat.

I just fitted one and the quality is excellent and as it says on the site being thicker than the standard screen there is less screen wobble as well.

I'm still adjusting to having the top of the screen in my eye line, I'm 5' 10" so I don't think this will be as much an issue for you.

Definetly smoother air flow, quieter and with no effects on handling. All in all a good option. :thumb

That looks like the Secdem (taller than original screen) rather than the super high.

Am I right?

No, it's the Super High aright, measured the height compared to the original screen just to check :D

Going to try it for a few more runs but might change to the wide version instead as it's not just as tall.

Norman said (yesterday) that the super high is the same width as the secdem. No mention was made of a wider one, infact he claimed wider was impractical and would snag with the mirrors. So which one are you referring to?

I agree that wider would be useful though.
