just looking at my newly aquired autoswitch i am curious as to why only one supply lead to connect to both lamps, which will need splicing to connect to 2 lamps, strange as everthing else makes sense and is pre-wired/done for you any ideas(cue btbr i reckon!)

I could be wrong...

...but I think the supply line should be routed to the switch on a relay, with the relay running wires to the lamps, as the autoswitch should be carrying the current load for your lamps...

At least, that's how it's wired on my bike.

thanks rob thats what i have but my query is really why the output from terminal 87 on the kit is only a single wire when really it needs to be split at end to go to seperate lamps? or am i missing something really obvious

When I wired in mine I just tee'd the wire off to both lights. For ease I brought an earth from each light back alongside and wrapped them together with self amalgamating tape. I put the two earth leads together into a single crimp terminal and attached it to an earth point under the headstock.

Bob. Uncle. Etc.

I think that you will find that the single wire is 2mm, from that you need to splice two x 1mm cables to each light.
