today i removed the ABS(easy way to lose a stone)and replaced it with two goodridge hoses, one to each calaiper from the master cylinder on the front,i've bled it with a syringe, pushing fluid up to the master cylinder from both sides, all the air seems to be out and there is no leak's but i can't get any lever pressure, any ideas/help/sympathy

thank's........loz

The times I have had problems like that it has boiled down to an air bubble, even when I was convinced that I had all the air out. As unlikely as it may seem, you may simply have a air lock lodged somewhere. If you open the bleed nipple, do you manage to pump fluid out? this would suggest that your master cylinder is working. If not, perhaps the seals need replacing. Perhaps the back pressure of bleed from the caliper upward has upset the master cylinder a bit: try the conventional way-cylinder to caliper...

Good luck

Do you have them off a common valveless banjo on the master? If so, you may be bleeding air back and forth from line to line. Have you bled them from both sides at the same time?

You may find that leaving it overnight with the M/C cap off helps as any big air bubbles should rise to the top. I had the same problem when I rebuilt my calipers on my old FJ 1100, I spent ages trying to get some pressure in the system and gave up but after leaving it overnight the system bleed up quite quickly. Worth ago any way.

You could try zip tying the brake lever back against the bar and leaving it over night, then in the morning remove zip tie and you should find the bubble has cleared.

That said i haven't had much success with this trick. :nenau

Alternatively get someone to hold the brake lever against the bar (so the system is supposedly pressurised), then crack the blead nipples one at a time, and then do them back up before releasing the pressure on the brake lever. You may have to do this several times....

If neither of these work install a parachute. :bounce1 :bounce1
