Interesting ride home......

No clocks, no indicators, ABS light on, 'LAMP FAULT' warning on, then 'LAMP FAULT' warning goes out , Then no clocks again. Bike wouldn't start, had to bump it, rode home without indicators or clocks. Bike cut out once whilst idling. The battery is always on a 'CAN-BUS' enabled charger when garaged.

Any ideas?

Battery or voltage rectifier or stator. Or a combination thereof..

You do not say how old (the machine, not you!) so I assume it is an 09/10?
Hoik that battery out for testing, but as above, likely to start at the Stator, followed by fried VR followed by fried battery.
Out with that Black Credit Card but check first the various threads on here.

Thanks Brian, Battery on the bench for voltage retention measurements. '09 so I suppose I've had my money's worth.

Electrickery-the Devil's work! Bought a new Varta battery (wanted an Odyssey but couldn't find one that fitted).

if the problem persists then its a Stator and Alternator diagnostic check

Should be doing this anyway!!!

Its crucial to watch this on these bikes As once one goes the other will be damaged

Check Out Gammotronix on E bay its a small LED that will show if you are over or under charging

My Gammatronix led paid for itself over the weekend...
On Saturday, my GS voltage rectifier decided after 75,000 miles, it had had enough! Luckily, I managed to ride the bike home, during which it went into a phased shut down of the various systems... The led gradually went through the various indication colours and flashes, As I came onto the motorway off ramp, I first lost ABS, then indicators, then lights, clocks and onboard computer. Happily, the engine kept running, spluttering and farting, until I pulled onto my drive.
I've tested the rectifier and it is dead, replacement on order today, tomorrow I need to test the alternator output, to see if thats OK. Both the rectifier and alternator are known to have a tendency to throw the towel in after 60,000..
The led kept me informed as I rode home, if I had not fitted it I wouldnt have known there was an issue until too late, also impressed by the Motobatt battery performance that kept me moving for 60 miles
