No KTM Adventure 1190s till 2010 !!!!

I have it on good authority that KTM won't be releasing the new Adventure 1190 Dakar and Travel until 2010,with shows debuts in Oct 09 !

The Adventure 690 should appear next year so should be at the shows this autumn.

This may be a great bike if they get the FI right.

I rode a mate's new 690 SMC fitted with full Akra system today and it went like stink-but the FI seemed very glitchy low down.

To be fair though,he only picked it up yesterday and it only had 25 miles on the clock.


But even when the 1190s do appear,they will have to be very good to make me part with my GSA12.

Went into Sideways last week and asked about the 690 Adventure and was told that it would not be available untill 2010.

as long as they sort out the fuel range i dont mind the wait.

250+ tank range will do nicely

mind you i might be better off, spending a £1000 and getting the long range tanks on my 950 adventure instead of spending at least £8000 on a new model

not much wrong with my 950

apart from taking me 2 days to do the 9000 miles service i was amazed it all went back together in the end

I've ridden the 690SM,690 Duke and now also the 690SMC and they all feel quite different in power delivery.

The maps are switchable with a control under the seat.

Of the 3,the Duke felt the nicest,but I only rode the SMC with the power in the most aggressive 'Sport' mode.

Does go like stink though.

IF (and it's a big IF) they get it right,the 690 Adv could be stunning.

Hopefully it'll be at the EICMA show in Milan in Nov.

Get your Easyjet ticket now for £50 ish and see for yourself-sure beats the chavvy NEC show.
