Round 'n' round in circles.........
........for the next two weeks coz I am away on holiday!

But the good news is.............. after careful consideration, I have decided that I will continue to still do them, but things have changed I must add.

The problem was that I had overdosed on GS's over the last few weeks, doing up to 3 bikes in a weekend in a effort to help fellow GS's out.

BUT, I am going back to only doing them on Saturdays again.

PLUS, no extra work will be carried out unless agreed in advance, so no popping an Autocom out of your tankbag and saying "while the tank is off just fit this..."

PLUS, any extra work that is not directly related to fitting lights will be charged for, such as making good bodged up work. Sorry to have to do this, but your dealer would'nt do it for free, so why should I?

As hopefuly those that have had lights fitted will endorse, I will help anyone if I can, but I am not going to be taken for a fool anymore!

Thats good news for us Alan...! Spoke to you at the Hog do. Will be in touch mate when I get my money back of BM for their rubbish fog lights.

I must say Alan that having been on the receiving end of your generosity I think this is more than fair enough. I can't see anyone complaining at giving you a bit extra for fixing problems they didn't know they had (like missing screws on fusebox  ) I would happily have given you an extra fiver for the extra work and the odds and ends I walked away with but you wouldn't take it at the time... (and don't go asking for it now :dabone)

If you burn yourself out or start to resent / regret doing the lights then we (the electrically illiterate) will all lose a service which I think all agree is excellent and I'm sure people will understand and support you in your 'drawing the line'

It's not like you're being unreasonable. :)

More wattage to your elbow mate..

Please dont get me wrong, screws replacing and minor jobs I don't have a problem with, its all part of the service that I like to offer. As in the past I have offered to rewire stuff while the tank is lifted up, just to make it better, BUT.............that is my choice to do that.

My point is that I do object to people "assuming" that coz the I am doing some work on the bike, anything and everything else can be fitted for free at the time........well sorry not any more.

If people would like to ask in advance, then I dont have a problem with that.

At the end of the day, I do enjoy doing them and I do enjoy meeting fellow GSer's (well some anyway  ) but the weekends are short enough without spending them bent over a GS...........oh errrr Matron:ymca

Still, 2 weeks holiday and then its back to normal. I already have 3 bikes booked in, so if you are thinking about having lights fitted, then be quick coz Saturdays are filling up very quickly!
