Okay,

I have had my bike for a year and graduallly got her up to the condition I am happy with.

Its a 2001 GS with nearly 70K on her. 8K is mine.

She now runs really smooth, and I can't complain on the running side at all.

One last thing that annoys me but I probably won't lose a lot of sleep over is a noise in the area of the gear box on idle. Its a bit of a knock. Nothing drastic though.

This is whilst the engine is just ticking over.

Not being a mechanic. What bits move in the area of the gearbox when its in neutral?

As I said I won't be losing any sleep over it and stripping it down just yet. But I am considering doing the clutch early 2013 and just preparing myself for something to check out at the same time.

The input shaft.

I wouldn't worry - it's knocking / rumblings when in motion or under load that should concern you :D

I get extra noises at tickover if the throttle body balance is slightly out on my 1100 :)
