I had Road 4’s on my R1250 from the factory. At 4500 miles they got LOUD- otherwise I liked the handling. Pit on Dunlop RoadSmart 4’s. Just used them up and gave the Michelin 6’s another try. At LESS than 1000 miles, they are already sounding loud. What gives with this tire?

On the third set on my V4S Multistrada. Never noticed them being loud at all...
got them on my vstrom 650, no noise.

I have another question regarding the road 6 tyre , I recently purchased a 2018 1200 te gs which came fitted with what looks like a fairly new set of road 6 and I was wondering if any one knows what tread depth they have when brand new ,
Also what sort of mileage are people getting out of these tyres ! I realise it's like asking how longs a piece of string

If I got this right, Front 5.5mm and the rear 6.5mm

Hi siddo , I'm asking the question as I'd like to be able to judge the wear rate on the tyre's as I'm off round Europe for a couple of weeks & as I've said my tyre's on my recently acquired bike look to be quite new but with out knowing what tread depth when new I carnt judge how worn they are or not .
I usually fit a new set before my travels but as I've already said the tyre's look quite new !.
I might just buy a new pair any way & then I can compare old with new & if I don't need to replace them before my travels I'll have a set to fit when I get back as the tyre price's are not going to get any cheaper,

Had some pilot 6 fitted yesterday, £330 , to loose wheels , had pilot 5s before, will update on any differences after the weekend.

I put new ones on before my 3k mile tour. Would say I'm less than 50% through the rear.
On my Multistrada, I got 6.5k miles out of the rear so am expecting same on GSA.
