Hello -

I know a similar question to this has been asked in the past, but I wondered whether there might be any updated answers. I've got two phones I could use with my autocom - a 6230 and an 1100.

The 1100 has the right socket, but I can't hear anyone speaking to me (although they CAN hear me) - so I wonder if anyone knows anything about why that might be a problem and if it's fixable???

The 6230 is newer and has a fancy socket for a headset with lots of contacts on the bottom, therefore won't work with the lead supplied with the autocom - so I wonder if anyone knows where might be best to pick up an adapter for it, and whether this will be more likely to work with the autocom???

Cheers,

Stuart.

You might have the cables wrong ie mixed music input with phone input.

Get the adapter anywhere you can get cheap mobile bits. I got my adapter at a service stop mobile store. cheaper than autocom for sure. just ask for a nokia to 2.5mm handsfree adapter.

Good luck

is it the right adapter i had a charger that charged my nokia ok but it was the wrong model and slowly cooked the battery try their web site by entering your phone model in the accesories part

Update - I've ordered an adapter from here, hopefully it won't take too long for the adapter for the 6230 to arrive - still no idea why the 1100 won't work though - it's definitely the right cable and the right hole, I've checked it several times. Hopefully with the adapter fitted, the 6230 will work.

Just a thought...when you fit the adaptor, do you fit it first and THEN the lead ? Apparently this is the way it MUST be done, don't have a clue why, but thats what Autocom said, could this be a possibility perhaps?

adapter

I had the same experience with my nokia 6600 and autocom. the autocom plug fits right into the phone, but for some reason it doesnt work properly as a handsfree. I got the adapter (from autocom, but any other will do too), which strangely connects to the earphone socket AND power socket of the phone; now the phone recognises the 'handsfree' all the time and behaves as expected.

Very odd indeed - I'm now using the 6230 without trouble - seems good, but have given up on the 1100 - I wrote to Autocom, but so far they haven't graced me with a reply! The adapter above fitted fine, and for some reason the shop sent me two adapters to convert the socket to the autocom plug, so I've now got a spare.
