NOLAN N104

I am considering buying a new helmet and am thinking of a flip front for the first time.

I have always worn Shoei since my first uncomfortable Arai years ago (wrong shaped head).

In ABR this month they have a comparison of 'flip fronts' including the N104 and Shoei Neotec. They both score a 9 out of 10 but the Nolan is £200 less expensive RRP. I don't need the N104 for its intercom capability as I have my satnav wired into my autocom.

Comfort aside as that is purely an individual thing, does anybody have experience of Nolan flip fronts particularly the N104 and what do/did you think of it/them.

I will of course try before I buy.

Ive had a N102 for three years. Great helmet , very comfortable , flip up/down sun visor is a bonus, vents work great in summer etc etc But...... its fecking noisy , even on a short distance you will want earplugs.

Its only fair to point out that its the only helmet ive ever had though , and as such they may well be all like that

I have used the N103 for a couple of years and like it, ABR magazine has just did a review of flip up helmets and the Nolan N103 / Shoei Neutec were both rated 9 / 10 in the review.
N103 will probable be my next helmet( a lot less expensive than the Shoei).

i have a n103 very nice but the n104 have much better venting noise i find not bad lots of room for padding to make it better

I've had a neon yellow N103 for a few years now. The colour is great (although not for everyone's taste) as it gets you seen really easily, which is always a good thing in my opinion. It is quite a heavy lid so it is good to see that the N104 is a few hundred grammes lighter. I also like the Neotec due to it's lightness, but it's very pricey like you say.
