Picture and site details

I dont think we'll get flooded out anyway.:augiewe'll be camping on the flat bit.
Im struggling a bit with people for the shooting,i could do with a few more,i really need 20 people or i think the shooting will be a no go, due to costs of buying the stuff in bulk, dont worry if the shooting is cancelled, full refunds will be issued, and it looks likes its steak and english brekky this time, cooked on site in a mobile catering unit with a very good reputation.
ive got 10 for the shooting so far.
Keep you posted,Paul
ps Roy, can you confirm your attendance, i cant pm you, and im trying to sort the food, but need accurate numbers.thanks again

Thought you were going to announce location via long/lat or east/westlings (however you look at it). You've made it too easy now.
I was alright as I am going along with you :)

Hello Paul

Good to meet you at Chad's. Please count me in for the 15th May. I may just come up for the evening meal, camping, and breakfast, or may get there earlier on the Saturday. Time will tell...

I've read through and the location, itinerary, food and cost seems to have fluctuated a bit. Can you just let me know the cost and your adress, and I'll send you a cheque pronto.

Thanks,

Robin.

news

HI Robin, you have a pm.

good news if you dont fancy bringing any cooking eqpt, i have found an Indian tandoori in sevenoaks with a good report, who is willing to deliver to the farm for no extra cost, bang in a large order and voila, sorted, it just gets better.:)woohoo.
Do we have any more up for the shooting? i'm down on numbers and could really do with around 10 more people really, im trying to fill 20 places, thats what i said in order to get the price down for the shooting.
Again i must say this camp is open to anyone and everyone, its not just the eynsford and elmers end massif meet, anyone can attend, the more the merrier.(even the essex massif.)schhh

Ride outs explained....

During the rideout, particpants will be expected to follow this simple idea...
The Cornerman system..:rob

The cornerman system is way of taking different riders of all riding skills from novice to racers over large distances with one aim, to get everyone to the destination with the minimum amount of fuss, and the maximum amount of safety.
no- one needs push themselves more than they need to get to the destination ,its a simple way of making sure that every rider enjoys the day and the rideout .
The cornerman system is about two riders Rider A the lead rider, and Rider Z the tail gunner, who are made known on the day. Everyone else is a potential cornerman, once the ride is underway, the Rider A, will point to a point on the road a roundabout, junction, cross roads anywhere he feels necessary, to leave someone to show the way to the following riders. Once Rider A leaves you on that point of the road its your job to stay there to show every other rider behind you the right way to go, its crucial to the rideout that you stay in place until you see Rider Z,tail gunner.
Once you see the tail gunner (Rider Z) and everyone in front of him has past you then and only then you can leave your spot and head off at your own pace knowing
the route is fully marked by cornermen. At the early stages of the ride cornermen may only sit a point for half a minute or so, but as the ride progresses you may sit there for fifteen or twenty minutes and not see anyone, either way you must stay there because if you dont ,every rider behind you will just dissapear off in the wrong direction and every rider behind them will follow, if there are breaks in the groups of riders you can end up with several groups heading off in two or three different directions which in turn ruins the ride, and day, as it can take hours to find everyone and regroup which means lots of waiting round. :blast
There is no race to be a cornerman and not everyone will be one, the slower riders will always stay in the middle or at the back, and the Lead rider (Rider A) should always maintain a steady pace to keep a regular supply of cornermen behind him.
All rides are different, built up areas can mean riders are stuck at traffic lights or busy junctions or some may just not feel confident to filter, out on open roads or the twistys, people will ride at different speeds and where they feel confident ,all this can affect your waiting time as a cornerman so just be patient. At this point its also worth saying that if things go wrong behind because someone has left their post,:tears the lead man has no way of knowing ,so its fair to say that the whole thing is going to go pear shaped.:eek:so trust is the key.
If poss if you can wear a hi viz that would be grand, previous rideouts has shown that a load of riders wearing hi viz is normally a group, and to be careful because there is probably more bikes around.
hope thats explains all for you.

It reads probably more complicated than it is.... It's like the Drop-Off system but with only some dropping off and others sailing past?

http://www.bmw-club.org.uk/~midland/dropoff.htm

The drop-system worked for 12 bikes on Saturday when we went to France to visit the Battle of the Artois sites at ND de Lorette, Vimy and Arras.

I know I am nominally the run leader at the event but since I pm'd Joe and Paul earlier today things have moved on and I am only 30/70 to make it as my father in law is potentially moving that weekend from one part of Suffolk to another and muggins is his nominated van driver.... at 85 he'd be a liability!! I won't know for sure until late next week.

I would plan for Joe being the run leader!!!

I have already cancelled the Faversham Classic Car & Bike Show run on the Sunday!!

New Squadron Leader

Unfortuneately,Paul Invicta Moto, has been nobbled by the relis, to do various domestic chores and is unlikely to make the Tosser Camp out.:(:(
But I wish to introduce to you our new...... Captain Biggles squadron Leader "Joe C".:D:D:D
He has kindly volunteered to step on his old size nines and take us all for a spin round the lovely garden of England.
A big round of applause please..:thumb2:beerjug::bounce1:beerjug::bounce1:beerjug::thumb2
Joe has the route planned and with some luck it will appear on paper for you all.Joe is a squadron leader virgin,so on the day please support him as much as possible.

New Beer Tent

Wahey! look at this new South East section Grand Beer Tent.
kindly donated by Mark 8303 from Hampshire parish, it should be good for at least 20 lads.Thankyou Mark you are a star.
It Just needs about 4 volunteers to put it up and pack it away.
Its missing some pegs , so ive got to go and get some of those.
I'll be selling budweiser, boddingtons, and cider for a quid a can, profits is going to Help for Heroes.
Mike i think you need to re-pack that bike, theres no room on there for beer.
