Check out www.lowa.de ,go into the english section and look under the specials section. they have some boots very similar to the altbergs for hunting and shooting.

Alternately try out www.genuinearmysurplus.co.uk they are based in darlington and have three or four different types of hunting boots

Danners are decent - I've had some good use out of a pair of Mt Hood Lights for the last few years - I will point out that any of the Vibram(ish) lugged soles will wear faster on a motorcycle than you might like... but the Danner Stitch-down soles are re-soleable. They have various amounts of insulation in the different models.

Note: I've found that Danners come a bit narrow compared to some boots ( a boon for me as I have narrow feet.

There's a place in kendal that sells danners so I might have a run up there and check them out as well.

Good spot on the shop in Darlington Neil Thats only 15 mins away so I'll definitely try those Lowa hunters.
