Nice one Paul, classic piece of music, very apt for the vid, nice reference to one of my first units 41 Cdo RM at Lions Sur Mer.:beerjug:

Tell you what sniper, i did 10 years in the RA and understand tactics, however when you stand on the cliffs and beaches and let your mind try and understand what those guys went through it hits home mate.. even from the germans point of veiw it must of realy played with them young lads heads.
forget books and films, if you have never been there its a must do and not a lot of planning needed for a long weekend trip.

I enjoyed the vid too, Have done the DDay sights many times, and the enormaty of the Operation is bewieldering - I did see a german documentry or was it a documentry of the german side where they interviewd the machine gunners - how anyone got ashore is amaizing, and that film Private Ryan brings it home in seconds. Had I watched the film before joing up I might have become a plumber or mechanic or something else.

41 Indep Cdo RM was my second unit ;) 75 - 77 :beerjug: I guess you were in Singers being a tad older than I...

Enjoyed that. I can't even post pictures!!!!! I have been to Normandy a few times as a history anorak on my bike and on family holidays. The American cemetary at Omaha is stunning in every sense of the word and the French obviously take the care of these places very seriously.

Enjoyed that Mate. super video.:thumb Brought all the memories flooding back of when we went two years ago. All that history, and to think our Heros did all that for us to live a normal life today. If you only ever take one trip abroad go and see the the Battle fields of France Its a must see.:thumb
