OK, I give in.
Some of you really need to go up there, so I'll put all info I can find about North Cape / Nordkapp here for you.

I do not guarantee the things I post here is good or the way you want it;
theese cabins do not have electrisity...
http://www.northcapecabins.no/engelsk/indexeng.htm

And here you may stay at a lighthouse;
http://eng.destinasjon-71nord.no/

This is in Norwegian, but you know ''bildegalleri'' = pictures, right?
http://www.nordkapp.tv/index.php?cat=26599

I'll post more when I find something I think you might need.
But;
keep in mind Norway is a long country... and the roads up there are like spaghetti; thin and not straight.

Cheers!
:) Liv.

Looks beautiful Liv, who knows, maybe next summer?

Bed.

Love those cabins, and if I,ve got my conversion right the little one is less than 40 quid a night.

Not just Nordkapp but the county Finnmark:
http://www.arctic-experience.co.uk/finnmark/index3.htm
It contents some info like this:
''The North Cape, latitude 71'10’21’’, is a high rugged coastal plateau that looks out over the Barrents Sea. It is situated at the northern edge of Mageroya, an island with 3500 inhabitants. Most of them live in Honningsvag, a small town and fishing harbour.''

And this:
''DAYLIGHT HRS / TEMP (°C)
Hrs °C
Oct 10 -4
Nov 5 -8
Dec 4 -13
Jan 5 -14
Feb 8.5 -12
Mar 13 -9
Apr 16 -3 ''
Note: Daylight is not sun! There is no sun up there in December, but they got 4 hours with daylight.

http://www.arctic-experience.co.uk/northernlights/
''The aurora borealis, or northern lights, appears when solar wind particles collide with air molecules in the earth’s atmosphere, transferring their energy into light. ''
But you can't see the midnight sun and the northen lights (nordlyset) within the same week!
I have seen it 3-4 times in my life, in the area where I live, close to Oslo. But what I saw was not as good as you might see up north! But it was fun; it moved - a little spooky!
I have been to Finnmark in the summer, the east part; Vadsø, Vardø, Kirkenes and Tana. And I saw the midnight sun.
If I have to go up there again, but I can choose the time of year, I think I would choose the darkest period of the winter... The northern lights are facinating me more the the midnight sun! (But there are no guarantee to see it... it's not like the sun; no clouds and there it is.)

This site is good for info for the arctic, not just Norway.
-Perhaps you'll go up there in the winter, and leave your GS at home?

:) Liv.
