Scamming lame as bollocks, title of letter reads.

IMPORTANT CONTACT INFORMATION - ACTION REQUIRED

This year we are planning to have several ride-outs, a trackday....

WTF, your utter shiet service before a 3,500 mile journey made sure I will NEVER USE YOU AGAIN. How can an oil-filter be changed (charged oh yes) without removal of a bash-plate????, which was just as dirty as when it got took to nqg-jokers. The oil-colour changed which brought my attention to other charged issues, thankfully I secretly mark stuff before services to double-check I ain't going bonkers.

I have also phoned them twice now to request removal from their system..seems the only way I will be removed is by shaming them.

Go do one, NQG :rob

And I thought it was only me that had that level of stealer paranoia :nenau

Better than OYB who left a "free" nut rattling around in my airbox before my last tour, luckily a duff battery led me to finding it befoe it jumped into the motor and killed me.

Worse was the fact they replaced the nut they pushed in to the airbox, so the "mechanic" must have known he had lost it,and with this nut the only place it can fall is into the airbox. The lazy f**** would rather risk my life than lose ten minutes fixing his own f*** up.

I've started using BMW Cotswold's, they are much more competitive on price, often over £100 cheaper! My annual service was around £95, and I was given a free 2010 GSA as a loan bike.

The girl on the bike service desk, is rather hot too

Got to agree with you there, after some great experiences there they were my fav dealer however my last visit ( a few years back now) left me with no option but never to return, shame really:(

You should be able to trust main dealers to do what they say:nenau

Have to say I am really supprised.
Although not needed to go to them for some time, but when I used to I found them very good and friendly.

Big Shame, hope you went back in there and told them face to face, if they have a dodgy mechanic they need to know about it or at least the rest of the shop.

Oh I warned them I was coming & had a conversation, with the engineers boss. He said he stood by his mechanics work report, didn't even bother to describe the 'how can it be changed without taking off'. I left happy that I had been defiantly conned, if you follow my error in logic]

It would seem from there perspective, sometimes the oil-filters doesn't need changing but the service computer system will do things automatically.

It was only like £15, but whether its a £1 or £100 it makes no difference in my mind. You con me, you ain't seeing me again. And I will be vocal on forums to heed others to possible future problems.

I told them over the phone, but it was met with a rather bland not committed reply, they just didn't seem interested at all, I was seething and the bike had already been recovered to another dealer for repair. So I chose to vote with my feet and wallet, not alot else I could do at the time, it still sticks in my throat though.

I'm sure it was just a bad 'spanner' in the workshop, the mistakes made were very basic and the downright fib as to the 'inspection' that never took place is unforgivable.

That's disgusting ..... I never had a letter from them. Who do I complain to?

I have found the service at NOG is slipping,to many negatives to mention. On my last service i had oil dripping down centre stand and asked if they could clean it up as he did..but finding they have their heads up each others a**es and talk to customers like we are all d..kheads..
I have taken my business to Cotswold BMW..they are the most honest..with discount on serv.

ALL the main dealers are the same in my opinion dont give a sh** when you complain either , go to a good independant who has got more to loose , and just use main dealers for warranty and recall work i do

Is this not the problem, I would much rather go to Steptoe or some other bloke who takes pride in his work and relies on hsi reputation, however Mr BMW will shit on you from a great height if your FD blows up "under warranty"

It is this monopoly that allows them to over-charge and under-deliver.

Normally I let the warranty expire and then do it myself / take it to an independant, the BMW is the first change for me as the bikes are total liabilities without warranty, so I either need to let the robbing toe rags rip me off, or swap for something that does not have a million common and expensive faults.

when you say bmw shits on you if your fd blows up , do you mean they dont honour there warranty or its a waste of time having a warranty fullstop ? :)

Reading this makes my blood run cold cos how can a BMW dealer be allowed to get away with this - its criminal and suicide for the main dealer

would be nice to get some sort of reply from the main dealer to put their side forward.

Ive been very lucky to have mine serviced by Bahnstormer and to-date they have been superb and never let me down - i feel not all dealers are ready to commit UKGSER suicide yet.

None of this chimes with my experience of NOG. Seems most strange.

If I was them, I wouldn't reply on a forum. It's a hiding to nothing. They can't win. I'd give them the same advice as I give to clients which is never to respond in these circumstances however tempting.

I have to say I changed my BMW dealer after being charged £650 for a annual service after only 2K from the purchase date a year later,I now use Coopers at Tunbridge Wells were I bought the GSA.
Been using them since 2008 with no complaints even fitted supplied tyres at very reasonable cost.
However its not just BWM that con on servicing I bought a second hand Honda Civic with 60K the clock and Full service History and was comprehensive the owner went there even to change a bulb.
Anyway I always check the motor over for Mot's and pulled the Air filter out and it was as black as the night and full of insects,I cant say it had'nt been changed at all in 60K but no more than once is being generous.
So there are good and bad in all makes you just got to find a decent one and stick with them until something changes.:nenau

I personally havent use them for service only parts ,but i find most main dealers unhelpful and really dont care about the customer there dealing with for service or sales because they know people have to go there for services/repairs or recalls etc . An independent needs the customers and repeat custom to servive so offer far better quailty service

I've not yet had occasion to visit the illustrious St. Eptoe, but many praise his service. My experience with Bahnstormers is that if they make a mistake, as we all can, they are quick to get it sorted out and prepared to apologise too. They are probably as close to an independent as there is in the BMW dealer network.

My local VW van dealer is the same, they work hard to keep me happy, and I keep going back.

But NOG's unwillingness to address problems is annoying people, and they tell others of their experience. Word of mouth works both ways.

I am at a total loss to understand why it is you own a BMW when you are clearly so mistrusting of both the manufacturer and the dealer network? :nenau

I am not a lover of paying main dealer prices, but i have to stick up for the BMW warranty.
I have just had a final drive replaced under BMW used bike warranty by Clarkes with no problem at all.
A mate of mine had his FD replaced FOC under BMW warranty,by Clarkes on his bike that had just run out of warranty again without a problem.
The topic of BMW warranty and some dealer service issues are 2 different subjects.

Likewise ....... I've had dealings with NOG since 2005 eventually buying a new 1200GSA off them in 2006 and I have to say that in all honesty they have been by far the best main dealer (of any manufacturer) I have bought from and have had dealings with. Nothing is too much trouble and everything I've ever requested has been done both efficiently and with courtesy

I'm dissapointed to hear that others experience has not been up to the same standard as mine but would happily recommend them as a supplying and servicing BMW dealer to anyone :thumb2
