Just visited the open day at "NOG", and thought while I'm here I'll buy a spare fuel pump controller! Before taking my money, I was told there is to be a recall of all 1200GS's to replace this part. I was then told - if I wanted to buy one in the meantime, for peace of mind, they would refund me when the bike is recalled !

YOU CAN'T SAY FAIRER THAN THAT!

No Jap or Itallian company would recall a bike 3 years out of warranty!

I was told if your bike has the silver FPC - it will be changed for the new black one!
I asked if I will be able to keep the old one as a spare - no came the answer! BMW want them all back, and you won't need a spare, 'cause the new one's pukka?

So it look's like I will be keeping the one I bought today, as a spare!

They're not having mine!, it's an original silver one on an '04 bike, well over 5 years old now!!

I would definately hang on to that one, over five years old and still working, That'll soon become a "collectors item" and will fetch a fortune on Ebay !!.

Mine is the original & nearly 4 years old! Don't try & fix what 'aint broke I say!

Got a spare now - and quite looking forward to a bit of roadside maintenance.

Good to know! I just put a deposit down on a bike at NOG, was very impressed by them.

I've not had a sniff on my current bikes sale, so when i ring up i'll enquire about the FPC :beerjug:

NOG is one of the best BMW dealerships I've ever experienced . And I've experienced BMW dealerships all around Europe (Germany, France, Switzerland, UK, Romania) :) . Nice, helpful, knowledgeable bikers in a professional / pleasant environment. Good for them, I hope business will flourish, they deserve it :) .
