North West Camping

One more body for camping please Pipster/Phil. :thumb

I was supposedly going camping this weekend as I haven't been camping for years now... 'cept right now I'm limping like a geriatric due to a bad back.

One other question... where is the truck stop on the M6 :o

I've got the navagational skills of a homing pidgeon, unfortunately, a dead one. :skull

I've got a fair idea that its somewhere round the M62/M6 interchange which would be J 21A on the M6, or J 10 on the M6. :reynolds

I'm coming down to Junction 20 on the M6 the is a truckstop / Mc donlds there.. i'd be happy to meet you there. The time to be confirmed but 8.30 am sound good to me... :thumb

the next meet place will be at where the road A534 & A41 cross the is a burger van just off the junction on the left hand side on the A534 the turn into the place is about 50 meters from the junction

:)

Sometimes I just don't think too quick :D

Just had a chat with my brother... who's a truck driver! The Truck stop can be most easily reached by coming south on the M6. From any other direction you have to go round serveral roundabouts, but can be reached by a variety of methods such as M60 to M62 to M6 south, or M60 to M56 to M6 Junction.

The only word of caution my brother gave me was that the entire area can be swimming in diesel :spitfire as all the trucks tend to brim them in the services and every exit requires at least one roundabout.

All i need to know does anyone want picking up at Junction 20 on the M6 the is a truckstop / Mc donlds there.. :rob :rob :nenau :P

if so please confirm ;) , because i'd be happy to stop and pick folk up.... but would rather have an extra 10 minutes in bed :D :D

Final instrtuctions for the camping weekend

Seems that everyone that showed an interest in the camping weekend is coming; they're'll be 9 of us in total.

We'll meet at Broxton roundabout (A41/A534) at 9.15 to leave by 9.30 and I think Terry has arranged to meet up with some guys at Lymm, so look forward to seeing you all at the weekend (look out for the parking and mobile cafe about 100 yards off the roundabout on the A534 towards Wrexham).

I'm not checking the weather as I'll be going regardless (!)

My number is 07764 764032 if anyone needs it..

Cheers

Looking forward to it

See you at 9.15am. :thumb

Might be a bit bleary eyed as we are out on the town big time with some friends on Friday night.

Ok Pipster, I'll see you at the roundabout.... North of Broxton, and east of Clutton.

My computer tells me that it should take an hour and a bit to get there... so I'll have to set off at dawn :o

If any other GSer sees a yellow R1200GS with plastic panniers sitting on the side of the road, that'll be me trying to figure out where I am :reynolds

ktm525exc, you can have your extra 10 mins in bed, besides I'm sure you'll catch me up

Buildwas was a good one in the woods a little tricky in places....

i've done the route and started printing it out on A4 sheets...
the route on the saturday can be added to or shorted if needed.....but we should be able to cover the route with the time with have ..it takes in three great vallys in north Wales and some other smaller ones...plus some open moore land...

The sunday route is longer but also can be shorted , i've put in a cost road that many folk may not have done before but also trying to keep away from main traffic flow where i can... the Run finishes in Shrewsbury then we can make our own way back if people wana go home different ways..
the last part of the route sunday takes in the Long Mynd which is a cool place to ride over..

oh pace will be at our/ your choice .......if you wana go slower or faster please say... to fast and i'll get bad ;) ribs :P from Alison diging me in them :D :D
