I'm off for a bimble on some North York Moors green lanes on Sunday 26 September, nothing technical and all should be GS-able. Not sure of the exact wheres and whens yet but will either start from Thirsk or Kirkbymoorside. All welcome, post if interested and I'll confirm details nearer the date.

I am up for that one. Been a while since I did some green laning.

Looking forward to it.

RIGHT YOU LOT:rob

If you've ever thought about wanting to try taking your GS up some lanes but your a bit unsure, not too sure how difficult it will be or will your bike be able to make it or not, etc, etc, well... Andy's organised green lane ride outs are the right level for every one. If your in any doubts, you will not get left behind, if you fall over:blast then help will be at hand....after the obligator pics have been snapped:D

So come on, abit more support for this ride out please:thumb2

Andy
Any thoughts on meeting place and start time:nenau

At the moment I'm thinking Kirkbymoorside market place 9.30 for a 10.00 start. It should all be relatively straightforward which I've done on an Adventure before (and basically I'm crap at this sort of stuff) - though anyone trying this for the first time should think it a bonus if they don't drop the bike. Drops are more likely to be slow or stationary drops rather than at speed.

There will probably be some mud and some fords. I'm hoping to get up to the area later in the week to recce a couple of lanes that I'm not sure of the start points for so I've not finalised a route yet.

I'll post again by Friday to definitely confirm start time/place but if anyone's got any questions please feel free to post.

I'm really hoping I can make it to this one,- although I'm not so keen on dropping me gsa, -I've just got the tkc80s on and am dying for a mud ridden blast on them, keep us posted!:D

Interested here too, getting fed up opening the garage door and seeing the Yam sat there having done nowt all year!

Meet up Kirkbymoorside market place Link to map from 9.30 for a 10.00 start.

Weather forecast is reasonable - sunny intervals and 14 deg C according to the Beeb, and I'll be in the area on Saturday to check out the muddiness/wetness of a couple of bits for those of a nervous disposition.

If anyone wants my contact number please pm - I'll take a list of who's shown interest but will be off at 10.00. There's fuel in Kirkbymoorside and also will be en route somewhere (or I'll be pushing my bike back) but if you're on a GS/GSA and haven't tried this sort of thing before I don't recommend having a full tank! Not sure of the total route length but probably around 80 miles.

Could be up for this, Just had new exhaust made and fitted to my XT600.
Be gentle as its my first off road ride.

:beerjug: Dave.

If anyone is coming from leeds, can meet up and ride over. I will be setting from Tadcaster/Wetherby area and can go scenic route or straight there, "what ever"

i will be on gs 800 at a suitable for all location if interested:thumb2

It was a bit damper than I thought it would be:

Or in some cases a lot damper: :blast :augie

Thanks Andy for a great day out on some great tracks in the north yorks moors.:thumb2.
Thanks to the other guys for your patience when my XT wouldn't start,:blast.

Hope the submerged GSA is ok and didn't take on any water :thumb2

looked like a great day out :thumb2

The GSA seems to be OK and so is the rider! He hit the killswitch as the bike went over and got it back upright straight away.

Quite peeved I couldn't make it,maybe next time, hope you peeps had fun, although I'm glad it wasnt me dropping my gsa in the water! I was trundling through the north york moors today on my way back down from Newcastle and the fords that were dry earlier in the year are starting to fill up!:eek

Many thanks to Andy for organising a great day out.

And at least half of my GSA got a wash! I just need to get the hosepipe on the other half now - or maybe wait until next time and drop it the on the other side.
