Hi all, Off to Norway in sept hope to travel up above the artic circle then down to russia and head back from their. 3 or 4 weeks. Have read plenty of posts and am building up a picture of places to go. Any one travelling around these times would be welcome and would be great to meet others as well. Also any other places, camp sites and info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Let me know if you want to meet a Norwegian in Vilnius, Lithuania;
I have a friend who are living there, a motorcyclist.

And I have heard there are a motorcyclemuseum in Moskva; Polytechnical Museum,
and Riga Motormuzejs in Riga, Latvia,
and Muzeum Techninki, Palac Kultury in Nauki, Warszawa, Poland.

Enjoy!
:) Liv.

Thanks Liv, Still planning at the moment but would be great to meet new people on the road..Thanks again.

Hi Electricjef and Liv,

I'm going to Norway for the second time in Sept.

I'm time constrained and can only manage 5 full days riding. I'm arriving on the 5th and leaving on the 10th, so I plan to stay south of Trondhiem, and pack in as much Norweegian riding nirvana as possible. I plan on doing a little bit of easy off road if possible too.

If you're there around the same time as me it would be good to meet up for a spin and a beer.

Have in mind that REAL off road riding in Norway is illegal! Last fine I read about in the news was 840£!

Old man who had used a 4X4 from the road down to his cabin (400m) without permission...

Jeebus  ,

No, not REAL off-roading, more like off the beaten track, gravel off-roading as described by Liv in this thread:

I haven't researched it yet. I just have it my mind that I'd like to do a bit.

In that thread there is a pic where they go "around" a bar. I would NOT do that without a permission from the owner of the road.

My father has ownership in a road like that, its not legal to ride on that road without a purpose. Too bad because its close to 15 km long and perfect for bikes...:nono

That's a bummer. Thanks for the heads up.
