Norway May 2010 ... please help!!

We did Norway a couple of years ago and it was awesome, you'll love it.

If you are concerned about your sleeping bag, get a silk inner lining. They are very portable and they increase the insulation drastically. They are also handy if you stay in a hostel as you don't need to hire sheets - most hostel in Norway make you hire linen.

We lugged our tents and camping gear and never used them (our pillions refused to camp saying it was too cold). They have great little wooden cabins at most campsites and they are quite reasonably priced.

One thing I would stay is that you will not travel as far as you plan. The speed limits are ridiculously low - 30kph in towns. Whilst the fjords have amazing twisties it does eat also time.

Depends what your planning is like really.:augie

I planned a 3200 mile route and we just rode it and saw where we got each night and amended as necessary.
As it turned out we dropped a little off but managed most of it easily with 350ish mile days and one 500 miler but that was down to missing a ferry not planned miles.
For a return trip with a group next year I am looking at 250 mile days to give plenty of time for breaks and the inevitable issues a bigger group causes.
Anyone should be able to do 250-300 a day tho really, more on the more open roads further north, so if you plan that and not something totally unrealistic you can travel as far as you plan.
Towns are few and far between for the most part, and on the open road despite a low speed limit you can cruise for hours on end at 70-80ish and daylight goes on forever, so if you pace yourself it's surprising just how far you can go in a day, even on twisty mountain roads.

Only 6 days to go :)

We are on the Harwich-Esbjerg ferry on the 16th May, anyone else on this one????
