What mapsource is needed to travel in Norway and surrounding regions.
Garmin Streetpilot 111 Unit
V7 mapsource software.

My Garmin Streetpilot 111 Unit can't use world maps. So how did any one else manage, or is it back to the paper map.???

Hi!

I hope to meet you when you get over here!
I live close to Oslo, but I hope I can meet you somewhere in the south part of Norway!

A map in scale 1:300 000 is fine!

:) Liv.

I have a Garmin Streetpilot 3 with European city Navigator v7 and it covers Norway
Donnie

According to the Garmin website, European City Navigator V7 has "Full Coverage" of Norway, Sweden and Denmark, but only partial coverage of Finland, so no need for World Map. :thumb

Stupid...Stupid...Stupid

No wonder I didn't have any coverage I used by v5 unlock code insead of v7 Now I can see clearly now.

Liv, Norway

If we make it to Norway we will have to stop in and say Hi, get some good locations and see the real Norway not the tourist Norway.
Paddy Bikes...Ireland.

You need the map version 6 or newer for Norway. The coverage is magnificient. Every single small roads is in there!

A good paper map is "Cappelens kart 2, Sör-Norge nord". Scale 1:335000. ISBN = 82-02-21599-4.

See also this.

Used V7 Maps for my trip last year.......they were great! Drop me a pm if you want Routes and Places we stayed. Well worth the trip the roads and Scenery is stunning!! :thumb

The real Norway = the tourist Norway!
If you ride narrow roads with hairpins in the sun, you just have to have fun!

Find mountains and fjords and narrow bendy roads on your map, (scale 1:300 000 is fine), and you'll have fun! Best area is close to deep fjords. (Deep fjord/lake = high mountains = funny roads. Remember that formula.)

I hope too meet you!

:) Liv.

Yes, I got it.

I'm scratching my head how to figure out to find out!
I think I have to call some dealers in Trondheim and Bergen, and ask if they know.

-Do you need a bike for two and some luggage? Or just a fast & funny bike for one?
-Where do you want to rent it from, what city?

The only thing I'm sure of is this is gonna cost you a lot! To rent a bike up here is expencive! ...but we got funny roads, so it might be worth it...

Perhaps you can rent a bike from a dealer, a BMW?
If you got long legs then all BMW's are good, but I guess the K1200LT is heavy and big if you normally ride an F... like I do!

I'll do my best!
-What type bike/from what city?

:) Liv.

Many thanks Liv,
I will be in Bergen and Trondheim so either should be ok.
A beemer would be fine - I currently have a 12gs and rented a 12rt in the uk earlier this year.
So yes I have long legs :D

The Euro navigator software has a map on the disc which you can print off from map souce , bit nothing to upload to the unit . The new mapsouce software is available so give Garmin a ring , it might be included now . :thumb
