:) :)

You've painted your indictor cancel button red and your horn button grey?

Nape, Swopped em around, i hate the cancel on the right, on full throttle i can never cancel so couple of wires later, swop the switches around and bingo cancel now on the left, feels more natural.

Why all this hassle about cancelling indicators they self cancel after 6 flashes or there abouts:nenau

I will tell that to the dozy twat that pulled out on me because there was a immediate turn after i turned in and the indicators had not self canceled, i prefer to concentrate on whats in front rather than counting my flashes.

:)

So how are you able to blow the horn whilst shutting off the throttle and slamming on the front brake?

Think about it ! Throttle rolled off, 2 finger braking, thumb on horn, riding with a relaxed grip .

Good idea - how often do we need the horn while doing anything other than slamming the throttle shut?

Indicators - I can't see what's wrong with press on and press off. All done with two switches.
Only snag nobody has hacked BuMW canbus.

You've got me there ! Its still press on press off, all done with 2 switches, all I've done is swopped the cancel over to the left bar instead of right as it feels more natural to me.

Mine has
left indicator on left
right indicator on right
and off on right.
Three switches last time I looked. ;-)
Off on left deffo makes more sense. But why have BMW stuck with the clunky airhead arrangement when they could do what they liked with canbus.

Perfect solution - don't indicate.
Drivers around here use them randomly or literally as they turn the wheel so all flashers do, is show the bulbs work.

I will guarantee you that the first time you have to panic brake you will not be able to use the horn at the same time. Unless of course, by saying you are from Derbyshire you actually mean Glossop then the extra thumb on each hand may now become of some use? :augie

By swapping over the switches you have solved a problem that for 99.9% of us is not an issue. Just so long as you're happy then all is fine :thumby:

The OP has made a good suggestion to an annoying OEM "feature" that obviously wont suit everyone but some might like the idea. TBH, the 99.9% comment indicates almost 100% of one person's opinion.

As for blaring horns - anyone who uses the horn after another driver has done something daft, actually has no real problem and is just displaying their annoyance. The person just cut up for real, has better things to do with steering and brakes than blasting on the horn.

I use my horn so rarely Id not be able to find the button is it was on my nose. So moving the awkward indicator cancel switch would probably be a great deal more useful. Even better would be a CanBus hack to do this electronically.

You have it spot ON, i can't remember they last time i used the Horn, oh yes beep beep outside my house and wifey comes out and opens the garage door :) tbh if someone has pulled out on you the horn will not make any difference or maybe it will by escalating the situation ! i usually just shake my head in disbelieve and carry on as normal.

Its not for everyone i agree but until you have tried it than yes i can understand how someone may say its irrelevant, i first did this mod several yrs ago and for me its natural to cancel with my left as i jump from bike to bike with different switchgear.

Excellent bit of kit, the TL quickshifter....i recently fitted one to my Ducati, and just as good as the OEM shifters on the S1000R/RR etc.

(but not as good as the new up/down shifter on the 1200RTLC and GSLC's though.:augie)

Never mind all this indicator and horn bollox, how does the Quick Shifter feel and is it a fairly straightforward process to fit?
