So I’ve got 2100 kilometers on the bike now and the Michelin Anakee adventure is more or less done.. while in the middle there is easily for another few thousand the sides are gone plus the transition from harder to softer compound is now very abrupt I literally feel it falling on the softer compound and I’m running the right pressure , now I do live in a nice Spanish twisties area and I do love giving it the beans but the first 1000 km I’ve taken it really slow due to the running in period. Was really impressed with the Tires at first but (I’m normally not a fan of Michelin) but this is to Quik to be done already, I’m looking for minimum 5/6 thousand km anyone suggestion of what will last longer with good corner grip? Regards Dennis

Try Conti Trail Attack 3 , great tyre , my mate wore his Michelin front out in the uk in around 1800 miles as the side markers are low even from new , same as the Bridge stone A41 as well and the Tourance next .
I think in the twisty roads , surfaces and the way you seem to ride you will struggle to get a tyre that will last as the roads make you ride hard for the mileage you want.
The conti 3 has deeper tread pattern and takes the wear well on the front as the BM is heavy and the ability to trail brake the front thro corners causes excess wear.
Oh I wish I lived in Spain so I officially hate you. :thumb:thumb

Another option is Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2.

OEM fitment on the 1290 Super Adventure S and the 1290 Multistrada.

Great feel from these boots. When my A41s are done I'm going back to these. Had almost 18 mths of them on the Super Adventure S and now want them on the 1250.

Don’t hate me! Just give us a ring when near and we will ride some twisties! I’ll have look at the trail attack 3 , was quite happy with them on my last Gsa though they were the 1st and 2 version and they cupped quite a lot, also liking the pirreli scorpion 2

Is it my imagination that BMW deliberately fit soft tyres as the first set of tyres? Builds confidence in the bike handling etc.

Second set of tyres always seem to get much greater mileage.

Thanks! I’ve just been reading up and they seem to be very good

Strange one this. My GS has Anakees fitted and has done 8000 miles on them and they are just about run off. How much do you weigh ? :D

Dunlop had a new tyre at the show which looked good, Trailmax Meridian.

Metzeler Roadtec 01

I’m pleased with the massively improved Anakees, mine have 3500 miles and loads of life left in them, however unless they last for > 7,000 miles I’m going back to Roadtec 01s, which gave great performance and miles.

I weigh 76kg so not that much, thing is that the middle is stil good for a few thousand but it’s the sides (softer compound) that’s nearly completely gone already

Okay in the uk but if pushed ,on Spanish roads they squirm a lot on the front as the wet weather sypes cause tread movement and can , due to the weight of the gs + hard riding make an unsettled feeling.
This is in answer to the op not a snip at the Road Tec.:thumb
