Hi - first post

I have a 13 plate GS, it was not running well so I have a full service carried out. But when its hot and i am in town traffic it lurches backwards and forwards. Like it either has too muich fuel or i was flicking the thottle (not doing this)

I have had it back to the mechanic and he want to try changing the the stake coils????

My mechanical experience is nill, so would welcome eny advice.

Thanks

Kevin

Fuel starvation? Are you getting a vacuum in the tank?

Stick coils you’re thinking of by the way ..someone with more ideas than me will be along shortly

And welcome to the site :)

The first question to ask is...how did it run before the service ?

Some errors can happen on their own and some can happen via human intervention?

ie something not reconnected properly, damaged or faulty new parts fitted?

You have posted in the wrong place :::.Now moved.:::

Probably a good idea to pay your £12 membership for the year and get access to all areas and the ability to post photos and send and receive messages

Fueling too high? get him to check the throttle position sensors

Yes very good, and not same bike but very good also.

Get it down to Geoff at Hilltop!

When I took mine in he wouldn't work on it until i'd got the stick coils and HT leads done, he was picking up the faults when he first ran it.

I returned a week later and my bike was running better but was transformed when Geoff re mapped it. Best value work and advice I ever had done to my GS.

Hilltop don’t remap Gs’s. They in theory load invisible software to correct afr but that’s not a remap.

Maybe not the solution, will maybe make more problem.

Welcome aboard Kev,

Have you got a GS911?

are there any codes being thrown?

what is the service history for the bike - mileage etc
