Phil I think you must agree that even if the thread is not exhausted then it has been around long enough for anyone bothered to have read it.
Whatever is felt by yourself and the readers, the thread continuing existence is unlikely to sway anyone's opinion - time to put it behind you, close the thread mate and revel in the fact it got to be a 12 pager!!

Civil what was the point of posting (original post 183) just to delete it. You are lurking in the thread you started but won't say anything, it's turned into a circus and you've made yourself the clown. Enough is enough, whatever you thought all this would gain you has failed.

You have already sent Jay a quotation for a brand new switch via recorded delivery this morning when you know full well he didn't break it. The switch was faulty and came apart when he tried to push the switch over, he fixed what was asked of him and more and was not obliged to fix the switch also, that is not to say he didn't try but was to degraded to be fixed.

Even after this charade Jay is still willing to fit the switch for you if you purchase a new one as you should have done in the first place, he will do it free of charge as a good will gesture so there is no ill feeling over the events of the past few days.
Take a leaf out of his book, swallow your pride and take him up on it.... or don't, it's up to you.

the civil one:

"What more can i say without "Circling "

I had a perfectly good functioning Indicator switch when i left the
bike in for repairs .
Now i dont , Simple.
I cant add or detract from the facts.

Its been mentioned its 24 years old , I have no idea where this came from

Thats it. Its that simple."

Can't be arsed reading it. Can someone summarise?

Weird oirish twat with a penchant for using DVD cases to move money around asks well respected mechanic to bring bag of shite GS back from the dead then takes the piss by trying to blame said mechanic for part of shite GS falling apart.Tosser of the Year Trophy heading out over the Oirish Sea as we speak.

You know what I said I wouldn't post in this thread, There's no real other way now to seek closure

Firstly Thank you very much to all that have been supportive :bow:bow:bow It was never about scoring points!

Although the praise from people who I only generally know has been humbling! well, Nearly humbling in Att's case!

I was going to offer to fit a switch if you'd provide one but God Forbid anything else would break, I'm sorry Phillip it's just not worth it, I didn't do anything wrong!

I have had enough! Same as I have had enough of doing things for nothing and getting no thanks! But I will probably still do things for nothing because that is who I am!

Please note that My "rant" was in fact a generalisation! it was you that held up your hand. I never pointed anyone out geographically or otherwise.

Phillip I am astonished and dismayed at this thread over a switch that you know was NOT maliciously broken! But failed in service.

I'm quite sure that both switches having the same "patina" on your 1988 bike show that they were the original ones unless you know better

I would love to know how you knew the indicator was working when there was no battery?

You have taken advantage of my mild mannered nature once too often and I am sorry but whilst in principle to fit the switch for you would be the right thing!

I could not be hypocritical and say "All is well!" it is not. I do not wish further contact with you in any shape or form personal or otherwise.

This is your reply to the letter that you sent recorded delivery to my house:

Phillip

I did not break your switch. It would appear the switch had an internal material fault, probably due to wear and tear and old age.

Yours Sincerely

Farkoff

P.S. Hurst were taking the piss @ £48 estimated to fit a switchgear to an airhead GS para

I've been reading this thread all along, didnt want to butt in as I'm fairly new here, however want to add.

Its bad that its came down to this, where a moment of madness on the internet, easily done, ends up like this. I feel for both parties, however cant see any way back.

The registered letter was a bit much. As a new biker, I will need lots of help and direction, especially mechanically. Its people like Dr F who set us on the straight.

Can I suggest we close the thread and all move on now?

Well put Jay:thumb

And civil not all is lost I found this for a bike of your age and condition

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/07awvy-aPhg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And this should sum it up for all bikers/mechanics

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YxYHDyfucBA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Civil please close the Thread it's like watching a samori go down on his own sword
