Not sure what to do!!

I have a 04 GS12 and is now out of warranty, and is due for a servive in the next 500 miles or so.
So my question is, do I send it in for a service or just do it myself. Im worried about not having that little stamp in the book and how it will affect when I sell.
But I hate spending that sort of money when Im very able to do it myself.

Is it worth doing it myself then sending it in for a quick checkup so they can plug it in to computer?

D.I.Y, staple all the reciepts into the service book, write in what whatwas done, what oil used etc and sign it, then get the BMW diagnostic check done and stamped if you want to.

If I'm buying a bike, the history is more important than the stamps
