As it was last day in Germany i thought Id hatch an escape plan. Dress as a German porn star and slip across border into Switzerland. Worked a treat and didnt reply in English when wished "Gut Luck" at border :D

Bit of a tradition, my usual leaving alps strudel and coffee, sadly always signals the beginning of the end ot the trip sniff :(

As ever stayed of motorways and found ace places and roads, past Konstanz and up towards Triberg, well worth a visit, especially if you want a cuckoo clock, I passed 4 factory outlets, jesus how much deman is there for bloody cuckoo clocks:confused:

Last night of rough camping, found a nice little track and had a goretex on floor night

iphone356.jpg

Woke up to birds singing, sun shining and wee wee all over my doss bag :( Must be an age thing, still its only a vango and to be fair its taken more semen than the Bermuda Triangle over the years so it can take it :)

iphone360.jpg

So last lunch in France :( I love hanging out with dogs, no choice living near Derby  Still does wonders for your bragging in the stamina departments :)

iphone338.jpg

Still time to pootle about looking for nice roads, a lovely lane I found

iphone372.jpg

My original intention on this trip was to tend the grave monument on a small island off Ploce of 2 mates who crashed into the sea off bosnia during war (RIP Dudes), sadly ferry times etc etc didnt work so elected to spend a few hours at cemetaries. No need to tidy them, the war graves commission do an amazing job, fuck me something we get right in the UK

iphone379.jpg

SOP on the ferry, pay for coffee and croissants with all the accumulated shrapnel :)

iphone383.jpg

The big clean up starts :(

iphone392.jpg

Ill leave it there for now, Ill pop my thoughts on kit I took and what I would have changed on here shortly. Im off to crack one out over a Grattans catalogue as doing this has used all my porn bandwidth :(

Hope you enjoyed it, PM me if

A. You have a fit sister (Alive, not in PVS, Desperate, Rides a GS slightly slower than me)

B. You want to chat routes kit etc

Regards

Right for what its worth a post mission report, hope it helps someone at some stage;

Bike - Faultless, the horn gave up at 42 deg but came alive again when cooler ?

Rallye Pro Suit - I know the arguments, suffice to say I went from +2 to +41and it was great. Blazing sunshine to torrential rain in Germany and it was totally waterproof and as cool as possible with the multiple vents opened.

CamelBak - Thank god i elected to take it, a life saver. My fave bit of kit and a defo thank fuck moment when it got v hot.

Enduro Helmet - Fitted and I like the look so tick vg.

Zumo 550 - Excellent and my patented roll mat mount worked a treat. Id like a sun screen if one exists.

Sargent Seat - Fantastic piece of kit.

Dainese Gore Tex Boots - Waterproof, cool, and dead comfy, brilliant.

Scala Rider - Only used as a music system but was brilliant, un toothed GPS after 1 day, too irritating breaking up the music.

Charging lead from BMW to Fag adapter - Brilliant when rough sleeping for phone.

IPhone - Fantastic for safety and FB updates so my one mate could follow me for fun and safety.

Vango 300 - Great bit of kit, steal at 112 quid from Go outdoors price match thing.

Vango 25 quid bag - Totally sufficient, dont waste money on mega bags if not required.

GoreTex Bivi Bag - Had for donkeys, awesome.

Thermarest - Cheap ones are cheap for a reason, awesome

Mountain Eqpt Bag - Ive got the N Face one too, not worth the extra money, good tosser deal from Cotswold

Roc Straps - Great half price from here, Ill never use anything else again.

Thats the kit done, Ill have a think about the route, roads and ferrys etc.
