I have now done 700 miles on the new GS and i feel that its time to "tweak" it a little to make it mine so to speak.

Havin just heard about a very nice Crimbo bonus that I will be getting from work, I need to spend it as quickly as possible for fear it might just burn a whole in my pockets

Wot shall I spend it on first??

Get rid of the stupid rear mudguard/mudflap thingy that's bolted on to the shaft drive housing.

It smartens up the rear considerably.

You can buy a blanking plate and bolts from BMW for about three quid.

Would however invest in a pair of crashbars, not that you going to crash or anything just that these bikes have a tendency to rest on their sides when you least expect it

Apart from that go to some GS meets and ask and look at all the stuff you could possibly get before spending money on wasted goods.

Oh yes Oh yes Welcome to the sad farm. without doubt your first extras should enable you to travel in comfort, so i'd go for a seat( so many to choose from) & a Wonderful lick screen. Then Halfords spots & driving lamps or (PIAA) if you can afford them.Hang on a while if you can & take pics & advice at GS meets Is'nt life wonderfull.

If you look at THIS thread, specifically the posts made by our esteemed moderator judge, I think you'll agree engine bars are the first thing to buy, just remember they're no fking good sitting in your garage, you have to fit them
