Numpty! 1100GS wiring problem

Triple wire as you can see is connected to a CO2 pot on mine. If you're certain yours had no CO2 pot maybe there was something in the end to replace the pot/bypass it, maybe not. Are you sure you've not blown any fuses?

Where did you pull the panniers off?
Surely the remains of what's missing is knocking around somewhere to give you a clue?

Regards dave

Checked fuses... all good!

I pulled off the panniers in the garage... then drove away... I only noticed something was wrong when I heard some strange noise. Pulled over to see two wires hanging beside rear tyre. I found the triple plug in the garage... the other one must have hit my rear spoke or something as its nowhere to be found and was probably the noise I heard... only a few hundred feet from home but couldn't see anything anywhere. I suspect it got tangled in my rear wheel and yanked off :blast

I'll post an update once I get it sorted out.

Many thanks.

So I thought to myself... why am I spending money on things that are not used? Exactly! :blast After reading all of the tips and advise from some very kind people I figured both of the damaged wires are redundant on my bike. My problem must have been from the wires making contact on the frame and with each other... the motronic would have had a weird few minutes getting info from the o2 probe as well as from something like the co pot... that doesn't even live on my bike. So... I actually need nothing to fix the bike.

I'm not sure of the technical term for it but I separated and sealed the wires with some shrinkwrap, tucked back up on rear mudguard, ziptied to rear rack and bikes starts fine. I'll get a chance to take it for a spin tomorrow but I'm thinking all is well in my garage.

Thanks for the advise and photos everyone and I've learned a bit more about the electrical side of the bike today.

I hope I don't have to add to this thread tomorrow!

Just thought on, I referred to CO pot as CO2 pot :blast, apologies, spending too long messing with fire extinguishers!
