We tried to book a day trip when we arrived but failed to find sensible availability all week.

Also, head south down the kintyre peninsula to Inverary. Some great cafes and the distillery shop is excellent.

This place is great, with amazing views of the bay. They do an early doors menu which was £13.95 for two courses. I had a seafood linguine.

Agree the place is excellent - you can tell by the way pepole queue to get in there all night

Glad you enjoyed it, we found the place by accident riding north on the A828 looking for a lunch stop, we spied the sign for the Pierhouse, had the exelent fresh mussels, stayed for 3 hours just watching the locals coming and going on the little ferry across to Lismore, we always make a point of going back when we are in the area.
View from the Peirhouse across to Lismore Island, we sat outside for lunch this was early July glorious sunshine and 23 deg IIRC.

Stayed there a few days in spring...highly recommended.
