Off road play areas in Bedford area

sorry mate read it and dont have clue what you are talking about, as far as I read it your post says that its criminal which its not, even if its trespass its not criminal

Contravening s34 of the Road Traffic Act is not criminal, you sure?

The closest I can find using a quick google is:-
"Driving a motor vehicle on a footpath, bridleway, restricted byway or any other land without lawful authority is a criminal offence".

And a s59, am I right in thinking it applies to vehicles identifiable by an index, so unregistered bikes get an immediate seizure?

yep sure, its a road traffic offence, summary only (ie mags court) it is same as speeding its a non recordable offence no criminal record.
No your wrong about the index bit, there is no requiremeant to register a vehicle unless used on a public road, now I am not saying that there may be other offences but strictly anwsering this one no its not automatic, and as I said in the previous post the police ONLY have power to seize if unless the area is subject to a Section 60 order, no sec 60 no powers to seize, no power to stop the vehicle

Here's a dilemma Roe End Lane towards the sewage works is legal then the last few hundred yards on the concrete drive to the sewage works are a footpath TL 03085 15804. Do I ride down the drive or push my bike I suspect even the later is illegal.

So long as you push a bike there is nowhere you can't take it, but it does somewhat destroy the point of a bike in the first place

I ride Roe End lane relatively regularily. I just ride the 'footpath' end as it is really a road - just private and I've never been moaned at. The way I look at it is that if you respect things and don't ride it at 40mph with the front wheel in the air then people don't mind. If you are clearly takin' the piss then they're going to report you......

Although I must say - when I led the ABR ride out some of the guys we're pushing the 100 yards as I explained the situation...

All fun :beerjug:

I see there are some new council signs specifically pointing out that the highway is now a footpath – If it’s legal to push I think I’ll be doing that in the future but I did wonder if it’s even legal to push a bike on a footpath.

It would be good to compare local routes mine starting from Harpenden loops South and out towards Hertford then North and across to Luton picking up the few lanes (inc Roe End) bringing me into the back of redbourn.

Ive never really found a route that works well going further west and only have little knowledge of the area North of the Luton Hitchin Road

It's certainly legal to push but to me defeats the point of a motorcycle :bounce1

I'd be more than happy to show you all the lanes I ride. I know a few out towards ofley, some up by woburn, down near Totternhoe is a massive play area, Berko, Chesham etc :)

Likewise I'd like to learn some of the lanes you know!!

PM me and we should go out for a play!
