Steptoe, that looks brilliant. If I can find some offroad tyres and some decent boots, you can count me in for the next ride. I'm a complete beginner offroad, but it's about time I got my bike dirty
It's a bit of greenlaning not a Motox raceWould the boots be totally unsuitable? I do realise that it's well outwith their design spec!

Any boots with good ankle protection will do - most injuries I have seen have been caused by being trapped under the cylinder or whatever in a low speed topple over or from "dabbing" on uneven ground.
Really only two thing to remember; keep your toes on the pegs with heels pointing out rather than having toes pointing out and getting caught on ruts, grass, branches etc and if the bike is going over - step off.
That's fine. I don't want to break my leg again...I had an ER-5 at the time I broke my leg (crashing it). I then got the 650 from Vines of Guildford (ex-offroad school job).

Any idea if what they are planning for the beginner run actually needs off-road knobbly tyres?

.
, but we've refined it a bit since then.

So the bike is used to falling over then...........
