Hired an MT350 for an enjoyable day round the green lanes of the Yorkshire Dales today.

As a total rookie, much harder than i thought, i dropped it the once but came close a couple of other times. Lots of water crossings, up and down dale, certainly gets the blood pumping with those hills ( in around Pately Bridge, Bolton Abbey, Leyburn, Masham.)

Places i wouldn't have dared to go on my own, and was a great days experience.

Nice ham salad sandwich in Masham. No scrimping on the ham.

Seven of us in total (9 including the 2 dogs) , the guy running the trip Dave (lovely bloke) was a spritely 77 years young and did the route with a jack russell in a rear basket.

Set off from home 7.45, a drizzly start but cleared up mid morning. Back home 11 hours later. Knackered. Got a feeling i will be aching tomorrow. Lots of fun had by all.

Looks like you had a great day out. I’m guessing Dave is from D&C at Ickornshaw?

Bike was torquey, and seemed well up to the job, I think they are about 30 years old mine was on 56k miles. I managed not to stall it all day (down to the bikes tractability) and the suspension seemed to soak everything up. The guys running the day all had Yamaha Serows.
