Off to see the Wizard

I would do your research before wanting to swop the headers, on the 1290 Ktm put a lot of R&D to give you the best, my stock 1290 with akra can makes more power and more torque than another 1290 owner whom Replaced his headers and lost the lovely torque low down.
The full Akra system comes with some sort of a factory re map I believe
My mates SDR with the full Ti system had a software download when it was fitted

I have had two bikes Hilltopped, First is Euro 3 2014 bike/ 2nd is Euro 4 2017, both have full Akro system and were within .25 bhp of each other at near enough 118.5bhp, they were at 99bhp 2014 (4000mls) and 102bhp 2017 (400mls) before setup.
.

Geoff and his colleague both said yesterday that the dyno at the new premesis is new, and may under read while it's bedding in.

ktm designed the akra headers in-house specially for SDR with the added race map, it still keeps a mid box so you don't lose the low down torque, whereas the likes of Remus just use headers with a link pipe and bods complain because it feels a bit gutless low down.

I did ask if they will release a race system for the GT - No

What about for your new S?:augie:D

No, there SDR akra system was designed for there race series, that's the only reason it was manufactured. So unless there's a race series for the S it ain't going to happen.

I'm happy with just the akra can .

Damn! Oh well, I'll stick with the standard headers then.

The man isn't winging but just expressing an opinion.

Are you afraid that others might say "you know, to be honest, I can't see much / any improvement myself".

You seem to be obsessed with the guy's riding style and seem to be accusing him of some sort of subterfuge "you haven't said". What about if you tell us all what sort of riding god you are and how you have been anointed to judge wingers.

Plus one , Wonky is just saying how he found the results of a remap on his bike. He gave a very honest appraisal in my opinion , and did not winge on about it.

I'm surprised at the 'after' figures, epecially as Akrapovic claim higher gains over stock. Nevertheless, it rides perfectly now, and looks & sounds fantastic.:thumb

Thats what its all about. If you are happy, mission complete.

I put a Carbon Akrapovic on my Bandit 1250 for nothing more than it sounds ace (and I picked it up second hand bargain off eBay).

Akrapovic might quote higher (maximum figures) based on a wide range of variables, and remember its mostly marketing bollocks which is extremely hard to disprove.

One thing you can be assured of is Akrapovic is a quality item, sounds ace and very lightweight.

Which is another variable added to why its important to compare figures from the same day, same dyno, same operator.

Everyone will be effected by the same conditions. Including before remap figures.

800 bikes at £300ea is £240,000 reasons to keep people motivated on remaps.

Figures speak for themselves.

Very good point Sir.

Don't let the hippy see words like that !!! He'll get upset. :aidan

So you've noticed zero difference, and are happy to say that it's made no difference on here, rather than ask for a refund? Fair enough. But they offer a FULL REFUND if you're not happy, which you aren't, so what are you hesitating for?:nenau

What's with the personal insults? You seem to be quite touchy.

Throwing personal insults at people must make you feel like a grown up. It’s cowardly, but then you clearly have self esteem issues if you need to abuse people from behind your keyboard. Why take it so personally when someone again expresses the view that they can’t see any improvement after Hilltop (I couldn’t either), unless you are actually the con artist at Hilltop?

What kind af saddo has posted almost 19,000 times on a bike forum? How many hours of your life can you not get back? It’s just a fucking motorcycle, for god’s sake (and Hilltop is just a backstreet dyno operator where loads of gullible BMW owners waste their money).

Get a life!

Have you actually read what you've just typed? You're criticising that I've personally insulted someone, then have just done exactly the same thing to me.:blast Well done.

And, yes, we know that Geoff upset you once upon a time, so don't like Hilltop.:comfort

16 posts in nearly two years? Well looks like you have made a massive contribution to this forum...not.

Very good point Sir.

Warlord makes a valid point that measurements have to be consistent.

The setup at Hilltop is that the temperature and air flow rates are the same for the control run and assessment run. The same operator does the runs on the same Dyno about 40 minutes apart. A bike's two runs are usually consecutive, so there are no changes to the Dyno setup. For transparency, you are invited to be in the Dyno cell standing beside Geoff the whole time. There are also CCTV cameras in the Dyno cell so you and others can observe from somewhere more comfortable, if you wish. The only variable is barometric pressure which, unless there is a significant front passing through between runs, would have a negligible effect (I think the barometric pressure is shown for each run). As the Dyno beds is, it may show slightly improved figures, but most people seemed to only be interested in the before and after for their own bike, as it's the only one they ride and not against other bikes measured months before or after.

Just as a matter of interest, do you have any explanation to why Nutty's bike was so low on power on its 'before remap' run? ... compared to the stock bike?

I would guess that it is due to full system and poor fuelling map, as a result the "two" weren't talking to each other?

There is also (not my words and yet to do a research) a reason why all LC biker have 100bhp or less at the wheel. Apparently German law prohibits production and sales of motorcycles with more than 100bhp. But then we get S series bikes with well over that Limit. I know France had a restriction but not now. Can somebody confirm this "myth"?

There used to be a 100bhp restriction in France and Germany introduced back in the mid-late eighties. That was removed about a decade later in Germany and not that long ago in France.
