Off we go again 15th - 17th August 2025

Not fallen off any morebridges but...
After four months of very slow recovery and total abstinence from alcohol, I was recovered enough to take part in Austin Vince's Twin Shock event in Spain on my XL250. It allwent well until the last afternoon. I tumbled off at low speed but landed on a tree stump. Two broken ribs and aggravation to the internal injuries especially my pancreas. Back to square one!
My p!an for 2025 is to avoid hospital Casualty departments. Looking good so far.
Ignore Austin Vince's invitations would be my advice 😁

Have you thought of a mobility scooter ??:blast lol

To all the people asking for beds in the house, sorry but I can't confirm until much nearer the time. We only have four spare rooms and two are already reserved by good friends/family. That only leaves two twin rooms so I don't want to allocate these yet.
I know that others have used Air B&B nearby.
I will have lots of space in games room and can supply mattresses and bedding. I also have a few spare tents that can be used. Or even wild camping in the woods.
I can vouch for the games room.

Sid/Ann provide plenty of mattresses, pillows, sleeping bags & blankets & it's very cosy. If there are snorers then wear ear plugs to drown out their noise.

I wake early most days, so a quick trip over to the main house for a refreshing shower & then back to the games room to apply the lotion/deod ;) & start the day.

Last year there was only myself & Stevie 4 scoops in the games room & so we had loads of space....& neither of us snored!!

I had such a wonderful time last year, crossing is booked and route planned, I'll be down a bit earlier again to help setup (y)

My boys tell me I snore so you must sleep well

I slept much better in Sid and Ann's games room than I do at home.

Yes folks, we go again.

P!ease look at past events for all the details and photos.
2024
2023
2022
2021

Basically, the same again, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The 2024 event was epic with so many people helping out with the set up etc.

Any questions, please ask.

Sid

Good morning Sid and Ann

Thanks for hosting again this year, last year was great and I'd love to join you all this year.

Will your local town be hosting a similar event to last year? It was a great atmosphere and a great time was had by all.

I slept better in your games room than I do at home so please can I reserve a space in there?

Looking forward to it.

Thanks again.

Stevie,
Bung your name up in the Attendees thread :thumby:

Yes there will be the Friday night event in Beauville, about a 30 to 40 minute ride. They have already booked a decent band and the bar will stock up on zero % 1664 which was popular last year. We will again have reserved VIP parking for all the bikes. For those travelling in cars, vans or motorhomes without bikes, I can possibly lend out a GS or two.

My old mate Rob will again lead out some good ride outs. I'l try to pursuade him to ride his ancient Royal Enfield rather than his GS12 so the youngsters can keep up.
I've already started preparations by extending the cover over the patio too provide more shelter from the sun (or rain!).

Plenty of room in games room with several mattresses.

Anything else, just ask.

Sid

Thanks Sid, I’m really looking forward to it again.

I take it as a compliment that I don’t class as a youngster, these days… 🤣👍

I know some people are coming in motorhomes and have asked if I wanted anything bringing over.
One item is coffee, we get through tons of it but I can only get small very expensive jars locally.
When in UK I tend to buy the large catering size tins of Nescafe. Unfortunately we haven't been to UK this year so stocks are low. I will of course reimburse the full cost.
Coffee snobs, don't worry our Chef Simon has machines for making fancy stuff if you don't like instant.

I dont think Rob being on the Enfield will make sod all difference :D, he'll still show most a clean pair of heels ;)

OK folks, just over a month to go.
We are working flat out to get everything ready. Not easy in this heat as it was up to 42° at one point. But don't forget that we have a large swimming pool to cool down in. Speaking of which, I've tried to repair several of the inflatables and purchased many new ones. I have an inflatable Harley which handles very similar to a real one.

Music. I've bought a decent big bluetooth speaker with flashing lights etc. So if you have any decent music then bring it along. Also if anyone is any kind of musician then please let me know. I'm tryig to arrange some brief entertainment on the Saturday night. I've wired in a new Karaoke machine which I can use to get rid of my French neighbours if they stay too long.
Any questions, just ask.
