Today i had my first ride of an airhead

Timolgra gave me a spin on his many moons ago - decided then and there I would have to have one:D (Start saving up Chad!)

For about 5 weeks I wasn't able to use my 100GS and so had to use my K100RS, which in all performance and reliability stakes is a superior machine. I can't explain why I still prefer the Airhead, but I do take the precaution of emptying my bladder before getting on to it.
If push came to shove it will always be the K that hits the for sale listings.

I know what you mean...there are four bikes in my stable and when I get the opportunity for a couple of hours for a ride out (not as often as I'd like), the question is - which one? Apart from the PD, the others are all modern (fuel injection, engine management systems, etc.) and perhaps this is the reason why the PD generally wins over the others...you need to 'ride' the PD rather than be 'piloted' by the others. I think they have made modern bikes too easy, predictable and forgiving and this takes away some of the enjoyment and thrill that you can still experience with the PD...and then there's that little matter of 'character'!

yup this looks like it will happen at some point , but swmbos says if i dont finish my Africa Twin first she will skin me alive:D

i cant remember the last time a bike gave me as big a shit eating grin :D:D

so tempting and a good excuse for a ride out :thumb2

Chad,
give me a call sometime after July 12th or thereabouts, as I'm off to Croatia and Motenegro and Bosnia on Tuesday, .......

......on the PD !! So, assuming all goes well, and bike behaves , you're welcome to call round.

Well truth be told if Chad did not pop around two weeks ago the PD would of been sold by now. Only after a promise of a good clip around the head with a crowbar did I wake up from my dazed & confused state and finished the little jobs outstanding on the PD this week.

Now the bike has not run for probably 4 years, 2 of those I have to hang my head in shame! On our way to the MOT station the carb bowl was leaking. Sometimes a tap on the side works well, a boot kicking the bowl down the road when the lights go green less so if you want advice :D

Went through MOT and it sounds LOVELY with those short pipes on!! I was getting slightly worried after letting Chad on it that I might end up prying my own bike keys out of his hands :D

Some pics to follow...

Finally got round to take some pics, the PD now officially working it's keep :beerjug:

Rode it into London the first time today, the look on people's faces when you blip the throttle with those pipes - :D
