‘Goodwill’ is not just a manufacturer looking after their reputation, it’s also because they know that, if taken to law, they would lose.

Hi Peeps - Update as promised - After a bit of a wait, (Parts were back ordered) the bike is ready today - the were repairs fully covered under BMW goodwill. Great!
