hello all , now im i gonna regret this , currently running a 1100 gs (which i feel is a great bike ) but seen a 1150 adv on sale on flea bay ,and heart is saying go on see what you think take a look , but head is saying its gonna be too big , im not the tallest of riders , i do have the seat on the 11 in the highest setting and with a seargent seat i can get both feet down but only just , what do you think , can the differances be woth it to change , i never will travel off rd with my bikes , and i do travel to europe twice a year , future trips planned to holland and italy next year , has anybody had the same thoughts and what was the outcome , did you change or stick with what you have , thanks all Kev

BTW if you're ok with a 1100 on the high setting I'd guess you should be ok with the GSA.

If you have a sargent seat fitted.. then the high setting on the 1100 will be one inch lower than it would be with the stock seat.

Engine and gearbox ratios seem very similar on the 11GS and 1150GSA and I like that about both bikes
RPM @ 5000 on both bikes will yield speeds of 85-90mph.............so they're pretty similar

The 1150Adv has a proper 6th gear...........not a stupid o/drive


Build quality will be slightly better on the 11GS..............but there isn't much in it

1150Adv is a good bike, it's taller (mine is with Ohlins and a 2 piece Corbin - about 2" taller than a stock Adv, with the Corbin in the highest setting) - it has presence and looks great

11GS is still one of my fav GS's (i'm on my 3rd now and not bored with them and I have owned 3 1150GS's and a 12GSA - all sold) - solid, dependable, stylish if you like the look

Go for it if you want....................but you might still hanker after the 11GS
