Oh no not an oil thread !

I used to run my bike on 10W40 semi synth with no issues.

Last year i changed to Rock Oil 20 /50, being a bit heavier it certainly quietened the engine down when hot, but it seems to have a strange side effect

The bike is now very sensitive to the oil level , if topped up to the middle of the window the bike seems to use oil quicker and has a whiff of oil about it once switched off ( no oil leaks ) , once the level has dropped to the bottom of the red circle the oil whiff and usage seems to stop as if its found it optimum level
anyone else had this ?

Go back to 10/40 Semi.. that's what I use

Just put 20/50 in my 1150 - quieter and keep it to top of circle- hardly uses any oil, middle - seems to use more??????

leave it at a level its happy with as long as its in the sight glass
