Its just started. The dreaded bar shake. Coming home from Cheltenham I felt the bars vibrating slightly, so let them go and yes they began to shake. So tried a few times more and yes it was consistant. Parked up in my garage without an inspection, so will go out and have a good look to see if any balance weights are missing. It wasn't a massif wobble just a high frequency shake. So might be a trip to the Dealers is in order. Borrox:blast

Could be many things, tyres, tyre pressures, suspension, steering bearings, wheels, wheel bearings, or something else broken, etc, etc, etc, let the dealer check it out.

My foreman told me a cure for that "shaking bars when I remove my hands from them!"

Apparently a customer had been in and complained of this occurence on his GT750 waterbucket!

Simple and easy fix! No expense or materials required!

Do NOT REMOVE HANDS FROM BARS!

They will not shake then!

You're Welcome

NEXT!

In all honesty Tyre pressures?? Rear preload very high ie.e 2 up??

Sounds like a punk dance move - the "Shit head shake"......... :blast

But - get a load of the panic-style posts so far

Sell it, sell it now, its turning into satans bike......If you don't you'll never trust it, it could turn and bite you when you least expect it, you'll be riding it and think ..did that just do it again, what's that new noise , did I check those bolts , why didn't I buy that Honda, and then you'll be making excuses not to ride it, and read about other bikes and how great that ktm really is and how could you spend so much on an obviously untested machine, and that germ of self doubt will grow to a loathing and hatred of this piece of German shit.

Or it could be tyre pressures :nenau

:roll :D :roll :D :roll

, why didn't I buy that Honda,

VFR800's do it if you have a topbox fitted and take your hands off the bars whilst it's decelerating (around 40mph as I recall) - but as you say, why take your hands off the bars? :nenau

....any concerned Wasserhead owners are welcom to take my Airhead out for a blast with the Mich Desert tyred wheels on.

After you've ridden that thing as it weaves and snakes its way along at 80mph your bikes will feel very secure.

Is this your personal experience or is there a forum out there stating that "VFR800's do it if you have a topbox fitted and take your hands off the bars whilst it's decelerating (around 40mph as I recall)..." from numerous owners personal experience?

I recall those days:cool:

I think your days had the bike on TKC's - with a Michelin Desert on the front and a Stone Master on the back it's frigging hilarious especially if you've got some motorway miles to knock off.

You just have to get in the groove of snaking along, I have found other road users keep a very safe distance though :D

Why would you let go of the bars?:nenau Were you on a bumpy road? The front is much lighter on this bike, and under rapid acceleration, on a bumpy road, you will get some movement from the bars, but you will from ANY bike.:rob

My last 3 GS's did it on the same stretch of road, as does my HP2, hell I can even get the front wheels to go light in the M3 if I'm in a real hurry.:D

On Sven's behalf, having known him since his VFR800 riding days, I think I can reliably confirm that the answer to both these questions is yes.

The forum you're looking for is....http://www.bikersoracle.com/vfr/forum/index.php

Doing very well to accelerate rapidly with both hands in the air:blast:D
