can i use shell 15-40 diesel oil in my 2002 1150?? if not why not,thanks.

The oil you are looking to use is a diesel oil and as a result will be formulated differently to a petrol oil as diesels have different lubrication and cleaning requirements to petrol.

I would not use it in mine.

What is the API Class of your oil?

What spec oil does it suggest in the owners manual for the bike, if the spec of the Diesel oil is within the recommended the it should be okay. Check the temp range and beware if using in hotter climates as it may be too thin. There are many threads running regarding oil.

fine by me, but if any of my goats develop sore feet as a result i'll be round to have words...

seriously, i have done so when an open bottle of oil for the truck is within reach for a top up and the oil in question meets the API specs required. i think diesel oil has more detergent than that for petrols, so more likely to be a problem going the other way.

i'm keeping an eye out for limping goats.
